Thanksgiving service to mark the 80th anniversary of the Battle of Monte Cassino/Italian Campaign

Date: 15-06-2024 Hour: 11:30

Event place: Military Cathedral Church of St Michael & St George

Cardinal Nichols has authorised a thanksgiving service to mark the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Rome to be held at the Military Cathedral Church of St Michael & St George in Aldershot at 11.30 on Saturday 15 June.

The Cathedral Church of St Michael and St George serves as the Roman Catholic cathedral for the Bishopric of the Forces. Located on Queens Avenue in Aldershot, England, the building was originally intended to be the principal church for the Anglican chaplaincies of the British Army but since 1973 it has been the seat of the Roman Catholic Bishop of the Forces.

The event is hosted by the Rt Rev Paul Mason, Bishop of the Armed Forces.

Speakers will include the Papal Nuncio to the UK and four representatives of the families of those that served in the Italian Campaign.

All are welcome.

It would be great to have a good turnout from Britain’s Polish community.

WHEN: Saturday, 15 June 2024, 11.30

WHERE: Military Cathedral Church of St Michael & St George, St Michaels House, 19 Queen’s Ave, Aldershot GU11 2BY
